In honour of the 2012 olympics we will be holding both a Standard (Olympic) distance and a Sprint distance event on the same day.

The Standard course distances will be

• 1500m Open water swim
• 40km Cycle
• 12km Run

The Sprint course distances will be

• 750m Open water swim
• 20km Cycle
• 5km Run

I will be updating the website with more information as we go and will hopefully be opening the online entry soon.

Summary

• 7km Off-road Run

The race starts with the swim from Tatums Beach, Portscatho, below the Harbour Club. 

You will swim around the marker buoys and across to Porthcurnick beach.  At the top of the beach is the first transition area where you will retrieve your bike.

Leaving the transition area you will head up the hill and towards St. Mawes where you will cycle past the castle before heading back towards Gerrans and down to St. Anthony and the second transition area.

You will leave your bike there and then run along the coast path back to Portscatho and the finish outside the Plume of Feathers

Parking
Parking will be available in a field above Porthcurnick with easy access to Transition 1.
Porthcurnick has a beach cafe and toilets available

Race Sign In
Sign-in will be available in the parking area

Race Meeting
We will have the pre race meeting in the parking area

Start
A beach start and we will start all competitors at the same time. The Harbour Club will be available for changing and toilets.  In the event of bad weather we will move the swim and transition 1 to Percuil

Porthcurnick Transition 1
Will be a secure area for leaving your bikes and access only allowed with your race number
There will also be water available

St. Mawes sea front
As this will be a busy area with cars and people on the sea front there will be no overtaking allowed here. It is only a couple of hundred meters of a long course so you will soon be through it

St.Anthony Transition 2
There will be a secure area to leave your bike again access will only be allowed with your race number. Water will be available and there are toilets. Transport will be available to return your bikes to the car park above Porthcurnick if you wish

Towan on the run to Portscatho
Water will be available here at approximately the halfway point to Portscatho. A short distance from the water station there are also toilets available

Finish at Portscatho
Water and first aid will be available here and there is an opportunity to have a massage to help you recover

Prize Giving
We will hold the prize giving outside the Plume of Feathers

Into the night
